about

I remember making this song like it was yesterday. I had been hearing the fuzzy bass line in my head for a few days before walking into Surefire Creative Studios. I gave my co-producer, Jared, the best rendition of it I could create myself. He found the effects to realize what I heard in my head. We only worked the arrangement that session. As he was saving our creation, he asked what the title was. I had nothing in mind, laughed and answered, "Good question!". It was initially a placeholder filename, but the next day the lyrics started coming to me and it was the title for sure.

The image, 'Retreat', was inspired by the line, "Only you can find your quiet place." I hope you have or find yours

lyrics

Intro:
Good question
Good question
Good question
Good question

V1:
You’re running here
Running there
But are you going anywhere?
Here a push
There a pull
So many things your mind is full
You need escape
A get away
As brain fibers start to fray
What can you do?
Where can you go?
To find the peace you used to know

Ch:
Run away
Somewhere safe, somewhere quiet
Take some time
Clear your mind of confusion
Find yourself
Your heart holds the answers
Where to go?
Now, that’s a good question

V2:
This can’t be it
All that there is
Something seems here quite amiss
You’re working hard
Playing your part
When does the “you time” get to start
Life’s in the way
No, that’s not right
Perhaps you’ll get more sleep tonight
See things more clear
A brand new day
Just like the last one, sad to say

Ch:
Run away
Somewhere safe, somewhere quiet
Take some time
Clear your mind of confusion
Find yourself
Your heart holds the answers
Where to go?
Now, that’s a good question

Br:
Only you can find your quiet place
But once you find it visit every day

Ch:
Run away
Somewhere safe, somewhere quiet
Take some time
Clear your mind of confusion
Find yourself
Your heart holds the answers
Where to go?
Now, that’s a good question

Ch:
Run away
Somewhere safe, somewhere quiet
Take some time
Clear your mind of confusion
Find yourself
Your heart holds the answers
Where to go?
Now, that’s a good question

Outro:
Run away
Find yourself
Take some time
Take some time
Good question
Good question
Good question
Good good question
